🚸 TRAC Pedestrian Road Safety Competition
Part of the Month-Long TRAC Pedestrian Awareness Campaign – “One Road, One Responsibility”
Trans African Concessions (TRAC), in partnership with RISE fm, is proud to launch the Pedestrian Road Safety Competition—a public-focused initiative aimed at educating and empowering road users, while rewarding listener participation with weekly prizes.
This campaign forms part of TRAC’s broader Pedestrian Safety Month, a four-week awareness programme running across the N4 Toll Route. With road safety as a collective effort, TRAC continues to invest in both infrastructure and public engagement to reduce pedestrian-related accidents and fatalities.

🚦 Weekly Themes
Each week of the campaign brings a fresh focus:
🗓️ Week 1: Pedestrian Safety by Pedestrians Themselves
Empowering walkers to take ownership of their safety by being visible, alert, and responsible.
🗓️ Week 2: Children and Youth Safety as Pedestrians
Raising awareness on child pedestrian education, school zones, and crossing safety for young road users.
🗓️ Week 3: Driver Focus
Encouraging motorists to remain vigilant, reduce speed in pedestrian zones, and eliminate distractions behind the wheel.
🗓️ Week 4: One Road, One Responsibility
Bringing all road users together—pedestrians, drivers, cyclists—to recognize our shared duty in preventing tragedies.
🧠 Why It Matters
Pedestrians remain some of the most vulnerable road users—particularly in rural communities and urban fringes along the N4. Through this competition and the month-long campaign, TRAC aims to drive home the message that road safety is not just about roads—it’s about people.
With years of investment in safer infrastructure such as pedestrian bridges, lighting, and barriers, TRAC continues to pair construction with community education—because safer roads start with smarter choices.
🏁 A Chance to Win – A Chance to Learn
By entering the TRAC Pedestrian Road Safety Competition, listeners not only stand a chance to win weekly prizes—they also contribute to the conversation on how we can all make South African roads safer.
🎧 Tune into RISE fm Drive every weekday and be part of the movement that’s making a difference—one kilometre at a time.
