Today marks the exciting TRACN4 Elands Marathon, a premier event set against the stunning backdrop of the Maputo Corridor in Mpumalanga. Organized by the esteemed Nedbank LVCC Running Club and proudly sponsored by Trans African Concessions (TRAC), this marathon serves as a qualifier for both the Comrades and Two Oceans marathons.
The main event, a 42.2km marathon, kicks off at 5:30 AM from Laerskool Oosterlijn in Emgwenya (Waterval Boven). Additionally, there’s a 21.1km half marathon starting at 6:00 AM from the Malaga Hotel, and a 10km race commencing at 6:00 AM from the Sappi Skills Training Centre. All races conclude at the scenic Sappi grounds in Ngodwana.
As part of the day’s festivities, RISE fm is broadcasting live from the finish line at the SAPPI sports grounds in Ngodwana. Both the Weekend Breakfast Show with Princess M and her “Royalties” and the Weekend Mid-Morning Show with Sia Mokoena will be on-site, capturing the energy and excitement of the event.
