The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for leading all sales and marketing efforts to maximize revenue opportunities and brand visibility for Rise FM. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to increase advertising sales, securing sponsorships, and promoting the station’s programming and events. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a passion for radio and a deep understanding of sales, marketing, and audience engagement.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / OUTCOMES

Sales:

1. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:

  • Identify and target potential advertisers and sponsors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Develop customized sales pitches and presentations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the advertisers, ensuring excellent service and satisfaction

2. Revenue Growth:

  • Achieve revenue targets through selling advertising slots, sponsorships, and branded content.
  • Upsell services like digital streaming ads, podcasts, or event sponsorships.
  • Achieve monthly and annual revenue goals through effective sales practices and innovative packages
  • Create customised proposals and packages based on client needs, station programming and audience demographics

3. Market Research & Analysis:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor analysis, and listener demographics to refine sales strategies
  • Use insights to inform sales strategies and offer targeted advertising solutions to clients

Marketing:

1. Promotional Campaigns:

  • Develop marketing campaigns to increase listenership, drive engagement, and promote shows or events.
  • Collaborate with content creators, on-air talent, and external partners to design promotions and events.

2. Brand Management:

  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
  • Position the station effectively in the marketplace to attract both listeners and advertisers.
  • Enhance the station’s public image by promoting its unique programming and community involvement

3. Event Management:

  • Organize and promote station-sponsored events, concerts, or contests and community outreach programmes to build brand awareness
  • Partner with local events or community organizations to increase the station’s visibility.

4. Collaboration with On-Air Talent:

  • Work with radio hosts and DJs to create cross-promotional content, enhance audience interaction, and boost station loyalty.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue goals

A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field.

3-5 years Management experience in Marketing and/or Sales preferably in the Media industry.

Understanding and knowledge of Sales and Marketing.

Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Knowledge of data analysis and report writing.

The ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures.

The ability to work under pressure.

Ability to close deals, negotiate contracts, and build long-term relationships with clients.

Knowledge of branding, digital marketing, and consumer behaviour.

Using listener data and sales metrics to improve targeting and strategy.

Creativity: Developing innovative promotions and campaigns to stand out in the competitive market.
