RISE fm and the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) are taking the energy, the music and the unmistakable spirit of Mpumalanga across the border for a full-scale Eswatini takeover at MTN Bushfire 2026.
Recognised as one of Africa’s most celebrated music and arts festivals, MTN Bushfire brings together thousands of festivalgoers, artists, creatives and cultural explorers from across the continent and beyond. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of House On Fire in the scenic Malkerns Valley of Eswatini, the festival has built a global reputation for its powerful blend of music, art, culture, sustainability and social consciousness under its iconic call to action: Bring Your Fire.
As part of this year’s festival experience, RISE fm joins forces with the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency to showcase the province, its people, its culture and its creative energy to an international audience.
The takeover begins on Friday, 29 May 2026, as Afrotraction, THEBIGZILL ONAIR, GTZ, Nonto M and Gratias Deo make their presence felt at IF’S Lounge in Eswatini, setting the tone for a weekend packed with music, connection and celebration.
The action then moves to the MTPA Stand at MTN Bushfire on Saturday, 30 May 2026, where award-winning Afro-soul sensation Afrotraction will perform live at 16:00, bringing his unmistakable voice and catalogue of beloved hits to one of Africa’s most iconic festival stages and activation spaces.
Throughout the weekend, festivalgoers will also find RISE fm broadcasting live from the heart of Bushfire, with Music Connoisseurs and THEBIGZILL ONAIR delivering the atmosphere, the stories, the sounds and the unforgettable moments directly from Eswatini to audiences back home.
More than a festival appearance, this is a celebration of regional collaboration, cultural exchange and the shared creative spirit that continues to connect Mpumalanga and the Kingdom of Eswatini.
From live music and interviews to tourism showcases, prizes, activations and exclusive festival experiences, the MTPA Stand will serve as a vibrant meeting point for visitors looking to experience the best of both destinations.
