The City of Mbombela has announced a once-off Debt Relief Amnesty Programme for household customers with faulty, tampered, malfunctioning or illegal water and electricity connections.
The amnesty period runs from 15 December 2025 to 15 March 2026 and gives qualifying households three months to regularise connections and apply for possible indigent support.
Application forms are available at all City of Mbombela offices and must be submitted during office hours or emailed to amnesty@mbombela.gov.za before the closing date.
Once the amnesty window closes, all non-compliant households will be subject to full credit control measures, by-laws, penalties and fines.
