We are currently looking for a strategic and creative Marketing Manager to lead our branding, audience engagement, and promotional efforts. This individual will play a critical role in shaping how the station connects with listeners, partners, and the broader community.

At the same time, we’re on the lookout for a results-driven Sales Manager to steer our revenue growth and forge strong commercial relationships. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of media sales and a passion for building sustainable, high-performing sales strategies.

POSITION: MARKETING MANAGER

REPORTING TO: STATION MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: RISE fm
LOCATION: MBOMBELA, MPUMALANGA

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote products, services and brands. The role is responsible for analysing market trends, identifying target audiences, and executing effective marketing campaigns to drive business growth. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, creativity, leadership, and analytical skills.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/OUTCOMES:
• Collaborate with the senior management team to develop comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives
• Develop marketing campaigns to increase listenership, drive engagement, and promote shows or events
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, product development, and design, to align marketing efforts with broader business objectives
• Collaborate with content creators, on-air talent, and external partners to design promotions and events
• Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels
• Position the station effectively in the marketplace to attract both listeners and advertisers
• Enhance the station’s public image by promoting its unique programming and community involvement
• Organise and promote station-sponsored events, concerts, or contests and community outreach programmes to build brand awareness
• Partner with local events or community organisations to increase the station’s visibility.
• Work with radio hosts and DJs to create cross-promotional content, enhance audience interaction, and boost station loyalty.
• Provide guidance, set performance goals, and facilitate professional development to maximize team productivity and effectiveness
• Monitor and control expenditures, ensuring optimal utilisation of funds • Evaluate the ROI of marketing activities and report on campaign
performance to senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field is preferred
• 3-5 years Management experience in Marketing and/or Sales preferably in the Media industry.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
• Understanding and knowledge of Sales and Marketing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. • Knowledge of data analysis and report writing.

POSITION: SALES MANAGER

The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving all sales operations across the radio stations’ digital platforms, and podcasts. This role focuses on maximizing revenue opportunities by developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, leading a high-performing sales team, and fostering strong, long-term client relationships.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/OUTCOMES:
• Identify and target potential advertisers and sponsors • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
• Develop customized sales pitches and presentations
• Act as the primary point of contact for the advertisers, ensuring excellent service and satisfaction
• Achieve revenue targets through selling advertising slots, sponsorships, and branded content
• Upsell services like digital streaming ads, podcasts, or event sponsorships • Achieve monthly and annual revenue goals through effective sales
practices and innovative packages
• Create customised proposals and packages based on client needs, station programming and audience demographics
• Stay updated on industry trends, competitor analysis, and listener demographics to refine sales strategies to sustain a competitive edge
• Use insights to inform sales strategies and offer targeted advertising solutions to clients
• Develop short and long-term sales strategies to ensure effective client services and achievement of maximum sales and digital sales revenues
• Monitor and modify sales strategies to ensure viability in the constantly changing marketplace
• Effectively lead, develop, train, cross-train new and existing sales staff team to achieve individual and team goals
• Develop creative and special concepts, promotions and programs to maximize revenue
• Provide continual flow of station and community information to all sales representatives
• Monitor and report on sales performance, tracking revenue and growth metrics.
• Prepare regular sales forecasts and reports for senior management • Ensure advertising revenue goals are consistently met or exceeded
• Oversee pricing and billing procedures to ensure accuracy and profitability • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related fields preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in radio sales, media sales, or advertising sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and manage client relationships • Analytical mindset with the ability to track and interpret sales data
• Familiarity with radio programming, advertising, and industry trends • Negotiation and contract management expertise
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue goals
• Proficiency in sales software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Ofice Suite.
