The hawks in Mpumalanga said more arrests are imminent amid an investigation into an alleged human trafficking syndicate.

39 victims including women and children were rescued by the hawks on a farm in Belfast last Friday.

It is understood that they were trafficked from Mozambique and taken to the farm for labour.

Hawks said upon arrival at the farm two brothers Carlos Guambe and Gabriele Bernardo Guambe were arrested and they appeared before the Belfast Magistrates Court.

The case has been postponed to next month while the victims were taken to a place of safety in Emalahleni.
