Mandoza’s home being ‘cleared’ for mourning process

The streets outside Mandoza’s home in Pimville‚ Soweto has been lined with cars as friends‚ family and neighbours gather to pay their respects to the late kwaito star’s family.

The mood among people who have gathered outside the home that Mandoza shared with his wife and children is sombre‚ as most people express shock over the news.

Speaking to TMG Entertainment outside the home on Sunday evening one of Mandoza’s neighbours known as ‘Gogo’ explained that the house was currently being cleared for his widow‚ Mpho‚ to start the mourning process.

“I didn’t go inside the house because they are busy clearing a room in the house so that Mpho can start the mourning‚” she said.

Gogo explained that one room in the house has to be cleared out so that whoever comes to pay respects to his family can go sit with Mpho in that room.

Gogo went on to say that Mandoza was such a “wonderful child” and was “always respectful.”

One of Mpho’s friends revealed that she was just with her yesterday to celebrate Mpho’s birthday.

“I am in shock because we were just together yesterday because it was Mpho’s birthday. We were just sitting on the grass yesterday and we were telling her that he will pull through. He was a fighter. Mpho loved her husband so much and she supported him.”

The Nkalakatha hitmaker died on Sunday after losing his battle with cancer. It was confirmed by his family last week that Mandoza who had first been diagnosed with cancer in May 2015 had been suffering with the disease again‚ after a tumour was detected in his brain.

Despite Mandoza’s ill-health the kwaito legend bravely took to the stage last week to perform for fans at the Thank You SABC Concert.
