IEC wants to increase Mpumalanga’s voters roll from 1.8million to 2million
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in Mpumalanga says all its 1 7 44 voter registration stations are currently opened and will be operating this entire weekend.
The IEC is looking to increase Mpumalanga’s voters roll from the 1.8 million to two million.
Provincial electoral officer Steve Ngwenya says “ We are happy to report that so far there are no disruptions in all voter registration stations in the Mpumalanga province.’’
IEC Spokesperson, Sibusiso Nkosi says “We are calling on residents and prospective voters to come out and register., we are also urging those voters who received sms’s from the IEC who need to update their residential address to come through and do that this weekend.”
This is the second round of registrations, with last months voters registration weekend that had a successful turnout of more than three million voters.
